Partners: Legislative Involvement

We would like to express our gratitude to Senator George Runner, Assemblyman (Dr.) Bill Emmerson and Assemblyman Roger Niello for being the Legislative Leads for the Community Renewal Project. We are excited about the energy and dedication they have already exhibited in expanding our activities in order to reach more people throughout California.

What makes the Community Renewal Project special is the leadership provided by our legislative partners. Since the Summit's inception, the number of legislative members to join our efforts has increased from the original 2 founders, Senator Tim Leslie (Ret.) and Senator Ray Haynes (Ret.), to include 13 State Senators and 30 Assemblymembers.

Summit attendees particularly appreciated the opportunity to interact and dialogue with these members at regional conferences throughout the state and during the "Passion Groups" interactive discussion time at the statewide Summit.

Thanks to these Legislators involvement and their leadership, they have afforded us an opportunity to bring our conference to diverse communities throughout the state; and expand our resource base.
